Enhancing Programming Languages Courses with Parallel Computing at UPRM

This study explores the integration of parallel computing topics into programming languages courses at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. Led by Dr. Wilson Rivera, the research assesses student outcomes and engagement through assessments designed around TCPP (Teaching Parallel Computing) topics. The findings reveal significant improvements in student understanding and interest in parallel programming, emphasizing the importance of incorporating contemporary computing paradigms into traditional curricula to better prepare engineers for future challenges.
