What can your Discovery Advisor do for you?

Your Discovery Advisor (DA) is your key resource both academically and beyond the classroom. They inform you about academic and non-academic student organizations, provide details on government involvement and leadership opportunities, and guide you through study abroad options and part-time job opportunities. With support for internships, volunteering, and academic concerns, your DA serves as a positive role model and peer advisor. Connect with them through G-chat and visit our Discovery Centers for additional resources to prepare for your future!

Inform you of academic and non-academic student organizations Provide information on hall/area government involvement and leadership opportunities Give you information about: Study Abroad National Exchange Part-time job opportunities Promote experiential education by providing information about: Internships Volunteering Service learning Job shadowing • Help you understand your DARS • Provide information about Gen Ed requirements • Serve as a positive academic role model and peer advisor • Give you information about schools and departments at BU • Refer you to academic advising offices • Serve as a resource for concerns related to: • Curriculum • Academic policies and procedures • Course registration • Facilitate academic assistance programs such as: • Tutoring • Study skills • Time and stress management • Test taking skills • Library services Get to know your DA!
