John Hancock Building Lights • Steady blue, clear view. • Flashing blue, clouds due. • Steady red, rain ahead. • Flashing red, snow instead. • During baseball season, flashing red means the Boston Red Sox game has been called off on account of weather. • In October of 2004, the beacon flashed red and blue to commemorate the Boston Red SoxWorld Series victory. This was the first time the color scheme changed since the beacon was lit in 1950. A new line was added to the poem accordingly: • Flashing Blue and Red, • when The Curse of the Bambino is dead!

Tell us something you believed in as a kid?(But you found out it wasn’t true?)
Michael Baum • I was convinced that the Ghostbuster movies were more of a documentary than a fictional film. • So, believing this, I thought that I could be one also and get to work and hang out with them.
Michelle Carson • I used to believe that there were lobsters in the deep ends of swimming pools and that if you swam there they would pinch your toes.
Melissa Cottrell • I believed that quarter, nickels, and dimes were worth more than dollars because they were shiny and dollars are only paper.
Catherine Ferreira • I thought that if I ever touched a pumpkin it would turn into Cinderella's carriage.
Emily Gibb • I always thought that the sprinklers in the lawn at my school had cameras in them and the principal was watching from hisoffice.
Alex Kalish • During a commercial for a car, I always thought that horsepower was the amount of horses it would take to pull the car the same speed as the engine.
Nathan Kupperstock • I thought that cats were girls and dogs were boys of the same animal, and dogs ran after cats because they liked them.

Kelsey Steube • My dad used to tell me that if i could put salt on a seagull's tail then I would be able to catch it. • I believed this for a while, until I realized that obviously if I could get anywhere near a seagull to put something on it's tail then I could catch it.
Rachel Watkins • If you held your breath while driving past a cemetery, you would live a day longer each time you did that.
Ann Williams • I believed that the fancy butter at restaurants was actually ice cream. • Good thing I didn't find out the hard way.

Devyn Winner • People who wore glasses were smarter than everyone else. • I tried to convince my mother and doctor that I needed them, however they didn't buy it
Molly Daniels • I believed that my neighbor's house was haunted. • No one lived in the house but every night there was a certain light on inside the house. I avoided the house as much as possible. I later found out that the children of the woman who used to live there had put the light on a timer to make it look like someone was living in the house.
Shari Davis • I believed that my mother could heal any wound or more importantly that she knew how to cure any and all ailments. • She is pretty good!
Yii Chun Khiew • I believed that if I finished all the food on my plate, I would also be feeding starving children around the world.
