  2. Geographical Position (1) • Bensheim is a city in Hessen, located between Darmstadt and Mannheim • It´s near the city of Frankfurt

  4. History (1) • More than 1230 years ago Bensheim was mentioned for the first time • In the 13th century Bensheim was awarded its town charter • In 1301 Bensheim burnt down

  5. History (2) • During the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) the legendary „Fraa vun Bensem“ helped to save the town from the Swedish troops • Now Bensheim and its 9 districts has about 40.000 inhabitants, more than 200 retail stores and 250 registered companies
