Shape Building Math Activity for Students: Factors and Multiples Exploration

Engage students in a fun math activity where they build shapes using beads and spheres, exploring factors and multiples. Each team of two students receives a sheet of paper with six questions guiding their shape-building process, focusing on multiplication and addition concepts. They assign numbers to colors and connect beads for multiplication and spheres for addition. The activity involves creating shapes with no more than 6 sides and stacking identical shapes to explore the concept further. Through this hands-on experience, students learn about the value of their figures, naming the shapes they stack, and comparing their sizes. Finally, three conclusions about factors and multiples can be drawn from the activity.
