University/College Requirements • Firm Commitment • Accept Credit Recommendations from ACE • For applicable course electives • Hire professors with DoD experience and will attend DAU FPD courses • Hire curriculum developer • (2) Contracting, Logistics, Systems Engineering, Production, Quality and Manufacturing, Business Cost Estimating and Financial Management will be a part of the college and university’s business curriculum

University/College PartnersRequirements • (3) Accept Credit Recommendations from ACE for DAU Courses already taken as an elective in an appropriate curriculum • (4) Maximum credit hours granted will be limited to 3 credit hours per course, up to a maximum of 12 credit hours depending on the College and or University’s policy • (5) All educational partners of this MOU will accept each other’s DAWIA certification training courses from students transferring from one institution to the other as referenced by each institution’s MOU

  40. How to Find Course Content or Materials DAU course content is stored under the Content Collection tab in the institution area of Blackboard. To find this content, logon to Blackboard by going to the following link https://myclass.dau.mil/. Once you are logged in you should see the Content Collection tab. If you don’t see this tab you should contact the Blackboard System Administrator. By default members of the DAU Faculty have access to all course content except for what is stored in the Restricted folder. To find the content you are interested in:

Under the main course folder are the six standard DAU folders. You may only see five folders if you have not been given access to the Restricted folder. Please read Standard Six DAU Blackboard Folders to understand the purpose of each folder. Also see Restricted Folder Explained to understand more about the purpose of this folder.

Faculty Performance Development Courses FPD-100: BECOMING A MORE EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTOR Mode: Classroom Length: 5 Days Continuous Learning Points: 35 Prerequisites: None FPD-100 is the first course taken by all DAU instructors. New hires are strongly encouraged to complete this course before conducting classroom activities with DAU’s customers. The session covers the basic elements of the adult learning model, how to prepare for and conduct platform teaching (lectures), an overview of classroom management techniques, and several DAU-specific resources and tools. Students are given opportunities to practice teaching methods and techniques and receive detailed feedback from the instructor and other course participants. DAU faculty members are invited to re-enroll every 4 to 5 years as a refresher experience. Course Manager: Dr. Judith Bayliss judith.bayliss@dau.mil FPD-105: CLASSROOM FACILITATION SKILLS Length: 2 Days Mode: Classroom Continuous Learning Points: 14 Prerequisite: FPD-100 This course is about creating classrooms that foster thinking through discussion and interaction. All new instructors should complete FPD-105 within their first few months of teaching and after finishing FPD-100. Interested participants should attend FPD-105 after sufficient classroom experience to develop an awareness of their delivery styles, strengths, and weakness. Participants learn how to transfer the ownership of learning to the student by using systematic questioning methods and techniques. Students develop questioning skills through applying the various question types and levels of questions within the context of leading discussions. Participants are given the opportunity to practice questioning skills and receive feedback from the instructor and other students. Course Manager: Dr. Judith Bayliss judith.bayliss@dau.mil
