  1. Earth Interior By Jesse Castilleja ,David Ibarra , Fredy Murillo

  2. Crust • 5km – 64km, thinner in ocean, thicker at continents Ocean crust made of denser rock than continental crust.

  3. Moho • Boundary layer between crust and mantle; named after AndrijaMohorovicic, who Discovered it.

  4. Mantle • To Depth of 2900 km, T* from 870* C To 2200*C, Thermal And Density currents move lithospheric plates.

  5. Liquid Outer Core • 2200* C to about 5000* C near inner core, molten iron and nickel.

  6. Solid Inner Core • 5000*C, pressure makes iron and nickel remain in solid form, large off-center crystal turning at different rat than the rest of the earth- this is what generates magnetic field.

  7. Lithosphere • Solid and near-solid upper 100 km of Earth: includes crust and part of upper mantle. The most solid blocks at the surface form the Lithosphere plates.

  8. Asthenosphere • Directly beneath lithosphere, ranges from 130 km to 160 km in thickness, thick molten rock resembles melted tar in consistency.

  9. Earth Interior • Consists of three Major Zones defined by its chemical composition. The Crust, Mantle and Core. • Earth Can be divided into layers based on physical properties. The Lithosphere, asthenosphere, outer core, and inner core. • The Crust of the ocean floor has a basaltic Composition.

  10. Extra info • Earths Interior Is The Second Source Of energy. • The Earth Mantel is Approximately 1,800 miles into the earth interior, and made of thick solid rocky substance, and is about 85% of total weight and mass of the earth.
