The LANDING of the Mayflower • Pilgrims • The Pilgrims left England because they wanted to worship God there own way.(1) • Some Pilgrims stayed in the basement and couldn’t breath that well.(2) • The trip lasted 66 days.(3) • Wampanoag • When the ship landed their were all ready people there. Those people were called the Wampanoag.(4) • The people there were very talented at hunting, growing, and surviving the harsh winters. (5)

  3. Settling New Land • Pilgrims • People needed to have shelter, and food as winter was approaching.(6) • The Pilgrims settled and made their colony on this very land.(9) • Did you know? There were not many people who survived! • Wampanoag • When the winter was over in 1621 the Wampanoags showed the Pilgrims how to stay alive in the new land.(7) • The Wampanoags were really good at building homes, and growing crop.(8)

Planting and Hunting • Pilgrims • The Pilgrim women were responsible for growing corn and beans to.(12) • The Pilgrims brought some stuff from England such as rifles, and swords to hunt with on the new land.(13) • What kind of seeds did the Pilgrims plant? • The Pilgrims planted rye seeds.(15) • What did the lady Pilgrims do? • They had to fertilize the garden!(16) Wampanoag • The Wampanoag were really good at hunting so they could survive.(10) • Some of the women were supposed to garden sirtin stuff such as corn, and beans.(11) • What were the Three Sisters? • The Three Sisters are corns, beans and squash.(14)

The first thanksgiving • Pilgrims • Thanksgiving was created by the Pilgrims in 1621.(17) • There were 60 Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving.(19) • Wampanoag • There were 90 Wampanoag people at the first Thanksgiving.(18) • The Wampanoags never had used cups so they drunk with their hands cupped.(20)
