This video will provide an overview of a process for doing temple and family history work. It also shows that help is available both online and individually to help you move forward. As the video proceeds make note of the resources available to you.
There is a three step process for doing temple and family history work. Look at the diagram on page 6 of your manual.
The site, new.familysearch.org is a central place for finding information about your family and preparing names for temple work.

Family history consultants are called and set apart by the bishop or branch president to assist with temple and family history work. Consultants may teach family history classes and provide one-on-one help. They can help you get started, answer your questions along the way, and help you use the FamilySearch Internet site and other resources.
