In June 2012, the Veterinary Continuing Education in Europe (VetCEE) committee convened in Amsterdam, led by Andrew Byrne, to refine strategies ahead of a pilot program. Formed in response to the ECCVT's 2009 proposal, VetCEE's objectives include establishing accreditation processes, creating competency dossiers, and ensuring consistent quality across programs. With founding members from EAEVE, EBVS, FVE, and UEVP, the committee aims to facilitate mutual recognition of educational standards across Europe while respecting the diversity of existing systems.
