Food chains. By Elena De Fraja. Prey. Prey is an animal an other one eats. The prey can be a carnivore, but not top of the food chain. Predators eat prey Vultures eating dead animals. Producer. Food chains always start with a Producer. Producers make their own food.

  2. Prey • Prey is an animal an other one eats. • The prey can be a carnivore, but not top of the food chain. • Predators eat prey • Vultures eating dead animals

  3. Producer • Food chains always start with a Producer. • Producers make their own food. • They make their food through a process called Photosynthesis. • Primary consumers eat Producers.

  4. Predators • The Predator is an animal which Eats another. • In a food chain the Predator can’t be Primary consumer. • Predators will always be secondary consumers or after.

  5. Consumers • Consumers are animals. • Green plants are not consumers. • A consumer eats plants or other animals. • Humans are consumers.

  6. Omnivores, Carnivores &Herbivores • Omnivore – an animal that eats anything. • Herbivore – an animal that only eats plants. • Carnivore – an animal that eats only meat.
