Contact Information and Guidelines for Mrs. Grimes’ Biotechnology Class

Mrs. Grimes is available for academic support in Biotechnology. You can reach her by phone at 480-472-5760 in the afternoon from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM, or via email at aacgrime@mpsaz.org. Visit www2.mpsaz.org/mesa/staff/aacherrygrim for homework, events, and study materials. Mrs. Grimes offers help before school (M&F 7:30-8:00), at lunch by appointment, and after school on most days, with labs open until 9 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All students must complete a Science Fair Project and service hours in the biotech lab area.

  3. Available for Help/Enrichment • Before School • M & F 7:30-8:00 (Activity Period) • At Lunch – by appointment only– any day but Thursday • After School – Most Days • Tuesdays & Thursdays – Lab is Open Until 9PM

  4. Text Book • Biotechnology: Science for the New Millennium • We Have Brand New Books and Lab Manuals! • any damage and your student will owe a fee

  5. Comp Book (CB) • Will be Maintained as a Legal Scientific Notebook • All of their lab work goes inside • Blue Pen Only • Glue Only for Pages (No Tape) • It is their responsibility to keep up • Graded at quarter but they earn points all along (stamps)

  6. Interactive Notebook • a.k.a.: Spiral Notebook • All class notes, worksheets, book notes etc go here! • Interactive – Notes/work on the right sides…pictures, summaries, self analysis, or journals on the left sides

  7. Homework • Class time is sometimes given, if they do not finish it becomes HW • Most Nights there is an assignment! • If they finish it the first night…no HW tomorrow! • Lab is open by appointment, please keep your appointments!

  8. Science Fair Project • All students in the class will be expected to complete an outside of class project! • There are hundreds of ways for this to be completed! • Students are also expected to complete service hours in the biotech/land lab areas • These service hours count for the Seal of Honor in Service Learning Service Hours
