Credit Transfer and Articulation Red River College: A Quick Profile • Manitoba’s largest institution of Applied Learning • Last year we had just under 32,000 enrolments • 8,554 in full time programs • 18, 358 in part time programs • 3,575 in full time Apprenticeship programs • Approximately 1,500 in PLAR and contract training programs • Recently added our own degrees in Nursing and Construction Management.

Credit Transfer and Articulation Articulation Agreements • Over 230 separate agreements • Most notably about 75 in Manitoba: 12-Apprenticeship Branch, 12- Brandon University, 23-U of M, and 28-U of W • Significant out of province agreements include: 35-Athabasca, 11-Lakehead, 30-Thompson Rivers • International Agreements include: 20-Griffith University (Australia), as well as a handful with University of Minnesota and Ferris State (Michigan)

  5. Credit Transfer and Articulation Credit Transfer • Primarily handled out of our RPL office (traditionally Office of the Registrar had very limited involvement) • Department oversight • Lack of communication • Inconsistencies and Barriers to students • Reactive rather than proactive

  6. Credit Transfer and Articulation Credit Transfer • Creation of a new position in the Office of the Registrar (Transfer Credit Officer) • Creation of a centralized data base • Outlined consistent process and practices • Preparing for a Provincial initiative
