  17. OSCE Training Mandate • 3500 locally recruited students within 16 months • Provide field training course • Deliver 750 Field Training Officers • Provide supervisory & management training course for 700 officers selected from KPS

  18. Training Aim • 20% women • 10% - 15% minority

  19. OSCE Basic Training Course • 308 actual training hours • 34 hours per week over 9 weeks • 19 weeks of field training with UNMIK police officer • 80 hours advanced classroom training • Conducted in English, translated in Albanian and Serbian

  20. Students • First class 176 – Oct. 16th 1999 • 10% minorities 20% women • Second class – 176 Feb 19th , 2000 • Third class – 250 May 20, 2000 • Fourth class – 256 Aug. 20, 200 • Goal – 500 students trained at the same time
