  3. Why Management of Information technologies? • IT no longer exclusive domain of tech savvy • Information Technologies used by all organizations • Need for employees trained to effectively manage IT

Course Objectives • Explore the role of IT in decision making • Explore the role of IT in supporting business functions’ activities. • Explore the role of information systems in obtaining an organizational competitive advantages • Understand issues related to the use of IT: security, ethics, etc. • Distinguish between types of information systems • Investigate the principles, practice, methodologies and terminology used in designing, developing and implementing information systems in organizations

Makeup • Makeup of assignments • According to EIU Makeup policy (documented illness, official university activities, emergencies) • If cannot makeup impossible but the absence is excused, grade is calculated without missed assignment • Excused Absence REQUIRES written verification • Student responsible to provide documentation
