  1. Residency Education Resource Center(REdRC) A joint collaborative project of APMA and its Affiliates

  2. GOALS OF THE PROJECT • To provide an online resource to assist in the education of podiatric resident physicians • Educational lecture programs to be based on the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) competencies for podiatric resident education and training

  3. OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE • Will review the CPME Residency competencies and develop a curriculum of lectures to meet the competency requirements • Will assign the developed lecture topics to the appropriate affiliate organization and the affiliate organization will identify an individual to provide the lecture • Lecture format will be a voice over power point • Appropriate recording microphones will be purchased and shipped to the lecturer to insure proper sound quality • Lectures will be uploaded to the REdRC after review and approval by the oversight committee

REdRC Website • Residents will register ($300 yearly subscription fee) with the REdRC site and be assigned a username and password • They will identify their residency director—residency directors will be given complimentary subscription (when their resident(s) subscribe) and will be able to monitor their residents progress • A drop down menu will list all available lectures • A recommended schedule will be provided for each year of residency training (one lecture per week for 50 weeks) with e-mail reminders sent to subscribers

TIMELINE • YEAR 1 (2012) • Jan-June: Develop subject areas based on CPME competencies Identify faculty Invite Speakers to participate Finalize contract with EAS Build REdRC Determine promotional plan and timeline to recruit resident subscribers Faculty to record lectures/ EAS to edit and package lectures Upload power point presentations and voice recordings • July 1: Launch REdRC for first year residents Develop subject content for second year residents Identify faculty and begin lecture recording

TIMELINE • YEAR 2 (2013) • Jan-June: Finish and upload second year resident lectures • July 1: Launch second year lectures • July-Dec: Develop subject content for third year residents Identify faculty and begin lecture recording • YEAR 3 (2014) • Jan-June: Finish and upload third year resident lectures • July1: Launch third year lectures
