1. Oomycotes • Common ones are water molds, downy mildews and white rusts • Heterotrophs • Absorb nutrients through filaments • Many are aquatic decomposers. • Some are parasites of animals and plants • Saprolegnia (parasitic), pale, cottony growth on some fishes.
