  5. Action verbs tell what a subject does. Action can be physical… kick jump throw

  6. Or action can be mental. He feels sad! Sheknowsa secret. They thinkthey’re cool.

  7. Do the action verbs in the sentences show physical or mental action? King Kong stomps through the streets of New York. Everyone fears Kong.

  8. What are some examples of sentences with action verbs?

  9. Linking Verbs Linking verbs can show State of being or condition

  10. The most common linking verbs are forms of the verb to be. Forms of be (show State of being) Is Am Are Was Were Been Being

  11. A linking verb links the subject to a word in the predicate. (Remember the subject and predicate?) LINKS / King Kong is a huge gorilla. subject predicate linking verb
