Welcome to KS1: The Owl Class - Routines, Homework, and Expectations

Welcome to The Owl Class in KS1! This guide outlines our daily routines, homework expectations, and communication tips to engage with your child. Homework will demonstrate your child’s knowledge and guide us forward in their learning journey. We encourage daily reading and writing in their reading diary. A selection of spellings will be provided each Thursday, to be submitted on Tuesday. We uphold high expectations: punctuality, effort, pride in work, and safety. Together, we foster a supportive learning environment for every child.

  4. homework • Show me what you know about… • Homework will ; • Focus on communication between you and your child. • Will show us what your children know and the next steps in where we need to take them. • Be a fantastic way for your children to show off exactly what they can do. • Also include reading with your children on a daily basis. • Writing in their reading diary to show that your child has read or been read to. • Will include a selection of spellings for your child to learn. • Will be given out on a Thursday and in on a Tuesday.

EXPECTATIONS • Children are expected to: • Arrive on time ready to learn. • Try their very best at all times. • Take pride in their work and our school. • To have a ‘can do’ attitude. • Feel safe at all times. • Make sure that they have their PE kit with them from Monday to Friday. (just in case) • In conclusion the should have: • High expectations of themselves and of us.
