  2. Fife Coast & Countryside Trust Who are we? An environmental charity committed to managing , conserving and enhancing the countryside of Fife and its wildlife for local communities and visitors to experience, engage with and enjoy.

Company Ltd by guarantee with charitable status • Founding partners, Fife Council, Scottish Enterprise Fife, Scottish Natural Heritage, and Kingdom of Fife Tourist Board • Set up in order to maximise the potential of Fife’s key Countryside assets, including: The Fife Coastal Path, Lomond Hills Regional Park, beaches and Local Nature Reserves

  4. Project Background THE FIFE PILGRIM WAY PROJECT • £758k project • Create a long distance walking route across Fife, following routes historically used by pilgrims • Linking communities and businesses along the route • Opening up social, economic and cultural opportunities

  5. Project Background 2012: Project Group meetings 2014 -15: Establishment of Steering Group Feb. 2016: Development Phase March 2017: Funding secured! May – July 2017: Project Manager and Community & Business Engagement Officer appointed June 2017 – March 2019: Delivery phase

  7. The Route • Starts at North Queensferry& Culross to Dunfermline and on to St. Andrews • c.70 miles • 7 key sections • 8 Info. Points • Variety: Medieval sites, industrial heritage, picturesque historic villages
