  2. Negative familiar commands are used to tell someone to not do an action. Example : • Do not run! • Do not eat!

  3. *Tu affirmative commands come from the third person singular:Aff. Tú – irreg or box 3 pres. ind. *Tu negative command come from the first person singular:Neg. Tú – box 1- yo form pres. Ind. The negative TÚ command:

  4. The negative TÚ command is: 1st. person singular (yo form) and switch endings so...

  5. Tu negative commands… • 1. Find the stem by taking the first person singular form [yo form] from the present indicative tense. Then drop the “o.” • Example: hablar… hablo - o= habl • tener… tengo - o= teng

  8. Orthographic Spelling Changes • Rule – You cannot change the sound of a letter by conjugating. • Example: tocar – toco – toces X toques You can do this by changing the spelling This typically happens with AR verbs whose stems end in CAR, GAR or ZAR C - QU G - GU Z - C
