  3. College GVHS Visits • College/University admission reps visit GVHS to meet with interested students during the fall term each year. • Students can login to Naviance and look under the “What’s new” section to see which college reps are attending, and when • Students will need to sign up in Naviance to attend these visits at least 1-day in advance of the visit, so we can send you a pass in homeroom

  4. Internal Application Process • 15 School Day Turnover Time! (over 1700 school packets processed last year) • You should have already filled out the “Records Release Authorization Form” and returned in to the counseling office. • Complete a “Recommendation Letter Follow-up Form” for each teacher you asked for a rec letter in the spring and get that form to them ASAP. Teachers have been asked to upload their recommendation letters no later than 10/15

  5. Internal Application Process continued • Once we receive the “Records Release Authorization Form” we will turn on your ability to electronically request your school packet (transcript, rec letter etc.) for each college to which you plan to apply. The 15 school day processing time begins when your request is received in NAVIANCE. • Send your SAT or ACT scores directly from ACT or College Board to each college/ university • Check NAVIANCE to see when materials have been submitted to college • Senior meetings are being scheduled - please make every effort to make it to your meeting

  8. Completing The Common App FERPA Agreement • Applicants will submit the FERPA decision on their Common Application account • FERPA question is answered when you add your first college to the application. Under the “My Colleges” tab of your application. • In order for the counseling office to send transcripts, counselor recommendations, and teacher recommendations, this FERPA portion MUST be completedand your NAVIANCE account linked with your Common App account. Counselors will assist with this in senior meetings. • Instructions for how to complete this are on the common application. Once signed, students must return to Naviance and “link” their common app account to Naviance.
