  2. The industrial plantislocated in General Roca, closethemajestic “Negro” river, wherehundreds of farmscoveringthevalley, formingan oasis in thedesert of Patagonia. Long summers, cold winters, with around 200 mm annual rainfall and an extensive irrigation canal system combine to create optimal conditions for growing apple and pear. The water for irrigation in Río Negro comes from melting snows of the Andes Mountains. The dryness of the area keeps diseases to a minimum. Low pesticide use. Apple and Pear harvest is performed manually.
