So, what’s a PTAC?! • In 1985, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) initiated The Procurement Technical Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program in order to increase competition for small businesses to sell products and services to the Department of Defense (DoD). • PTAC’s are the bridge between the buyer and supplier. We assist companies compete for all levels of government contracts - Federal, State and Local, including Schools & Universities. • There are PTAC’s in every state, comprising over 300 local offices, and forming a nationwide network of procurement professionals to help businesses compete successfully in the government marketplace.

Indiana PTAC Purpose The purpose of the Indiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is to generate employment and improve the general economic condition of the state by assisting Indiana companies including those eligible for preferential consideration in obtaining and performing under local, state and federal government contracts. PTAC exists to help Indiana businesses market their products and services to the federal and state governments.

History of Indiana’s PTAC • Currently Managed by Partners In Contracting Corporation (PICC) a Not for Profit based in Hammond Indiana • June 1 2014 the State of Indiana will begin managing the PTAC under the Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (OSBE) and PICC will dissolve • Historically concentrated in Northern Indiana • Upon transition the PTAC will expand and become a state-wide program Presented by PTAC

  6. PTAC Current Status • Currently have 5 Employees • Executive Director • Compliance Officer • Three Counselors (Hammond, Fort Wayne, Bedford) • Active Client Base of 475 Companies • 70% are in Distressed Counties • Annual Budget of Approximately $400,000

Major Changes for 2014 • Budget more than Doubles effective 1 June 2014 • Will hire 5 Additional Counselors and Program Coordinator • Offices will be located in: Fort Wayne, Crown Point, Indianapolis, Bloomington, Westgate (Crane NSA), Camp Atterbury, Evansville • New Website which will improve our ability to communicate with our clients and provide them instant links to critical government websites and training
