  2. Background Information • John F. Kennedy was the President of the United States in 1960-1963. • He was the youngest President ever elected at the age of 43. • He married Jacqueline Bouvier September 12, 1953. • JFK had two children: A girl named Caroline and a younger boy named John Jr. (John-John) • JFK had 8 Siblings, 5 sisters and 3 brothers: Joe, Rosemary, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert, Jean, and Teddy.

  3. Assassination Information • John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas on November 22nd 1963. • The police charged Lee Harvey Oswald as the shooter but was killed two days later before he could be brought into trial. • There were two bullet shots that hit JFK; one shot hit him in the back and came out his throat, and another shot hit the left side of his skull and exited the right side.

  4. The Conspiracy • The conspiracy theory about John F. Kennedy’s shooting is that the angle of the bullets that hit JFK were impossible from where Lee Harvey Oswald was supposedly standing during the shooting. Lee Harvey Oswald was standing on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Many people believe he would’ve had to have a partner.

  5. JFK’s Autopsy • The Back Wound: The bullet entered JFK above his right shoulder blade (about 5 inches below the ear) and exited through the bottom part of his throat. There was also a contusion of the top of his right lung. The bullet damaged the strap muscles on the right side of the neck and the trachea as well. • The Head Wound: The shot entered the head to the right and slightly above the external occipital protuberance.

  6. Lee Harvey Oswald • Lee Harvey Oswald was the accused assassin on JFK. He was born on October 18, 1939 and died on November 24, 1963. Oswald was a former marine who had briefly defected to the Soviet Union. • Oswald was initially arrested for the murder of a police officer, J.D. Tippit, 40 minutes after JFK’s shooting so he was also believed to be involved in JFK’s shooting as well. Oswald denied any relation to either of the murders. • Oswald was arrested and brought to police head quarters. When he was being transferred from the police head quarters to jail, he was shot by Jack Ruby, a nightclub owner, on live television. • In 1964 it was concluded that Oswald was the one who killed Kennedy by firing 3 shots at the president. However, in 1979, the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that Oswald had shot the bullets that killed Kennedy but they also changed the results from 1969 by saying that he probably did not work alone.

  7. Conclusion • In conclusion, JFK was the youngest president elected and had changed the world in many positive ways but was sadly assassinated on November 22nd 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. He died from a shot to the head and a shot to the back. • Oswald was the supposed killer but he was killed before he could be brought into trial. Many people believe that Oswald was not the killer or had people helping him which created JFK’s conspiracy. • No one for sure knows who killed JFK and if any of these suspicions are true, but this event had lead out country to where it is now and will always be a major part in our nations history.
