  3. How computers are used at home by kids • Researchers found that young children aren’t really interested in the computer as older kids are. • Researchers also found that kids prefer to use the computer at home rather than at school because they feel they can do whatever.

  4. Many kids do not use the computer for only educational purposes, they prefer to write, design and play games. • Families adopt rules for the computer making equal time for pleasure and homework.

  5. How computers are used at home by adults • There are about 2,675 adults, 25 and under, who have computers with internet in their home. • Adults use computers at home mostly for payments, research or maybe even for pleasure.

  6. How computers are used at school by kids • Computers are used at school for school projects or testing out new computer software for their teachers. • At a high school in Chicago, they are using computer simulations to teach students how to solve environmental problems.

  7. How computers are used at school by teachers • Teachers use computers to accomplish various teaching objectives in school. • Teachers with 9 or fewer years of teaching experience were more likely than teachers with 20 or more years of experience to report using computers or internet “a lot” to communicate with colleagues.

  8. They also gather information for upcoming assignments. • And they use internet for creating instructional materials.

  10. So overall we need computers for our daily lives, not just for pleasure, but for important things too. • So the computer was a good invention for this world.
