SKILL • We learn to perform skills from a very young age • Some are simple (walking) • Some are complex (swimming) • Proficiency = PRACTICE
SKILL • Make a continuum of 5 different skills, explaining how they go from simple to complex.
WHAT IS SKILL? A specific action or the level of performance of an individual • They are goal orientated – the skill will achieve an end result. Eg: putting a golf ball into the hole. • They meet the Performance goal with maximum certainty.
WHAT IS SKILL? 3. They meet the performance goal with minimum outlay of energy. Eg: Being streamlined when swimming. 4. They are learned through practice & experience.
