  3. The Presidency • Who is the President in relation to the Executive Branch? He is the nation’s chief executive

  4. Presidential Selection • How are the President and Vice President selected? President – Primaries, National Convention, Electoral College Vice President – Chosen by Presidential candidate

  5. Presidential Term Limits • How long is the President able to serve? Two terms of 4 years

  6. Presidential Succession • How is the office of the President to be filled when vacant? The Vice President is first in line to succeed to the presidency

  7. Presidential Powers • Are all of the powers granted to the President listed in the Constitution? Only the Expressed Powers - Implied Powers and Inherent Powers added

  8. Timeline • You and a partner will create a timeline showing the changes in the Presidency. Plot the following dates on the timeline and include a brief description and an illustration depicting each event. By the end of the activity, you will understand the ways in which the power and scope of the Presidency has changed over the years

  9. Rubric • You will be graded on the following: • Correct Dates/Order on Timeline (15 pts) • Description of each date (60 pts) • Illustration of each date (15 pts) • Effort/Neatness (10 pts)
