  2. Extras: Complete & Return Tonight • Soccer Registration • Tip Tap Toe (Girls) • Music Lessons • Squirrel’s Club • PTF/Patriot Volunteer Sheet • Emergency Info Card • Grandparent’s Day Info • InfoDirect

  3. Meet the Teacher • Grew up in Michigan • Majored in Early Childhood Education • 8th Year teaching K5 at WCA

  4. Arrival • Before 8:00 Drop off at the Cafeteria • 8:00- 8:10 Walk your child to the classroom

  5. Dismissal • 1:20- 1:30 “Early Bird” carline - South Carport • Place the Pick Up sheet in your windshield • 1:30- 3:15 “Gummy Bear” come to the classroom - Nap mat needed • 3:15 – 6:00 “Gummy Bear” go to the front steeple

  6. Morning Routine • Say Goodbye at the classroom door • Your child will come in the classroom & get unpacked independently

  7. Assessment/ Grading • Everything that is graded is worth points • Homework • Show & Tell: Tuesday • Bible Verse: Friday • Monthly Homework • Occasional Projects

  8. Attendance • After 8:10 your child is tardy • Send a note ahead of time if you know your child will be absent on a particular day • Send a note after your child is absent so a reason can be recorded • Cannot miss more than 20 days • 3 tardies = 1 absence

  10. Discipline / Merit System See p. 29-31 in handbook • Yellow: Excellent Behavior • Green: Loss of 5 minutes @ recess or elective • Blue: Loss of 10 minutes @ recess or elective • Red: Loss of 15 minutes @ recess or elective • Black: Loss of recess/elective time & merit loss

  11. Snack • Bring a healthy morning snack (labeled with your child’s name) • Gummy Bear snack after 3:15

  12. Lunch • Money on Account – business office • 2 meal options each day • No microwaves or sodas

  13. Birthdays • Class goodies/treats, etc. • Invitation Policy

  14. Class Parties • November 26: Thanksgiving Chapel/ Party @ 10:00 • December 20: Christmas Chapel/ Party @ 10:00 • February 14: Valentine’s Party - TBA • May 30: Year End Party @ 8:30

  15. Volunteers • General (Carnival Booth, Class Parties, etc.) • More Involved: One on One with students (Field trip chaperone)

  16. Tomorrow • Open House 8:30- 9:30 • Bring your child’s school supplies – labeled with their name
