And it's so alive, so alive.” • Sensation-seeking: the need for varies, novel, and complexsensations, and the willingness to takephysicalans social risks for the sake of suchexperiences (Zuckerman 1979) • Need for control and mastery (Knopf 1983) • Risktakingitself is not an importantmotive in extremesports (Ewert 1994)
