  3. Flight out We will meet at British Airways Concourse F at 7:00PM

Trip Itinerary – Starting off: • BRITISH AIRWAYS FLIGHT#208 3/18/14 9:45PM • We will meet at the airport - British Airways Counter - Miami International Airport at 7:00PM • Our flight is 7 hours long • We arrive in London at 10:05AM 3/19/14 • The TIME DIFFERENCE IS 5 Hours Ahead for both London & Dublin

  5. Day 2 • We arrive Wednesday, March 19th in Heathrow Airport 10:05AM London time (GMT) Breakfast is included during the flight. On arrival we have to go through immigration and customs. • The tour guide will meet us once we pass through customs and baggage claim - bus to Hotel IBIS/ St Pancras – unload - then… • Walking tour of London The Strand - a street in the City of Westminster, London, England. The street is just over 3/4 of a mile long. It currently starts at Trafalgar Square and runs east to join Fleet Street at Temple Bar, which marks the boundary of the City of London &The National Gallery The London Eye ( Possibly Day & Night) • Dinner & back to hotel

  6. Day 3 – March 20th • Breakfast at hotel (Slightly! Dressy Day) • Morning – Hampton Court Palace • LUNCH at Covent Garden • British Museum • Dinner in the Theater District • Play – WICKED at the Apollo Victoria Hotel • Back to Hotel

  7. Day 4 – March 21st • Breakfast at hotel • Day Trip to Cambridge (8:30-5:00PM) • Natural History Museum • Shopping • Dinner at the Albert & Victoria Café • Albert & Victoria Museum (Museum closes at 10:00PM) • Back to hotel

  8. Day 5 – March 22nd • Breakfast at hotel • Guided tour of London - Big Ben/Houses of Parliament/Piccadilly Circus/St. Paul’s Cathedral/ Changing of the Guard Buckingham • Spectrum Scavenger Hunt • Lunch – outside the Tower of London • Tour the Tower of London – Crown Jewels • Dinner • Jack the Ripper Tour • Back to Hotel

  9. Day 6 – March 23rd • Breakfast at hotel • Full Day Trip to: • Windsor Castle • Stonehenge & • Bath • Dinner • Pack It Up for Flight to Dublin

  10. Day 7 – March 24th • BA Flight #0830 7:55AM Arrives Dublin 9:10AM • Coach transfer to Ashling Hotel unload & off to… • Trinity College - Book of Kells • Lunch in Dublin • Gaelic Games in Glasnevin • Ceili Dancing Class & Dinner at “The Church” • To hotel

  11. Day 8 – March 25th • Breakfast at hotel • Tour Dublin Castle • ½ Day trip to Glendalough, County Wicklow • Monastic City • Wicklow Gap • Dinner in Dublin • To hotel & Pack up for home!

  12. Day 9 March 26th • Breakfast at Hotel • Coach transfer to airport • BA #0845 DUBLIN LONDON 10:40AM-12:05pm • BA #0209 LONDON MIAMI 1:45PM – 7:20PM Miami • Should be through Customs & Immigration at MIA ready for pickup at 8:30PM

Passports and Visas • Valid passports are required for all travelers • Name (including middle name if applicable), date of birth, and gender listed on your airline ticket must match passport information • Some destinations may require travel visas • Carry a copy of your passport with you and also leave a copy at home • Non-U.S. citizens may require special visas

  15. Hotels and Rooming • Hotels rooms are smaller than in the US • Our hotel rooms are doubles.

  16. Meals • Portions are smaller than they are in the US • Breakfast typically includes cereal, bread, juice, coffee, and tea • Lunch is on our own • Dinners will be a mix of local cuisine and familiar dishes and will be a pre-set meal for our entire group, rather than ordering from a menu • Table water is included, other beverages are an additional cost

Spending Money • ATMs are the best way to get money • Do not bring traveler’s checks – they are difficult to cash • Check with your bank to ensure your card and password will work abroad • Let your bank/card know that your are going to be in the UK and the dates • Bring the equivalent of $50 in the currency of your arrival destination • We are responsible for our lunches and tipping

Packing • Pack light – we will be responsible for loading our luggage on and off the bus and into hotels • We are responsible for any luggage handling fees charged by the airlines • Carry any valuables or medications in your carry-on • Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on in case your luggage is lost

  23. Carry On Bag • Documents • Passport (required on all EF Educational Tours. Bring a photocopy on tour and leave one copy at home.) • Visas (if applicable) • A list of important phone numbers and addresses to send postcards home • Copy of any prescriptions (Customs officials may want to verify that a container’s contents match its label, so all medication should be carried in its original container.) Here’s a short list of things travelers might need on the first day of the trip. These should be packed in the carry-on just in case luggage is delayed. Passport Money Toothbrush and toothpaste (Toothpaste needs to go in a one- quart plastic, zippered bag, and must be 3 oz. or less.) Hairbrush Contact lens case Change of clothes (in case luggage is delayed) Medication

  25. 110 Volts is NOT 220 Volts • Look up what you will need to adapt the electronics you are bringing. Look specifically for the United Kingdom/England & Ireland • There are all kinds of adapters, converters, power strips… • Figure out what you want to bring and what will work for you.

  28.  ACCUMULATED WISDOM FROM INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL WITH STUDENTS: MONEY BELTS ARE GREAT! Current Exchange Rate: Euro to Dollar 1 to 1.30 Dollar to Euro 1 to .77 Day 1 is GRUNGE DAY – Be comfortable! Have $50 -$75 in GBP Pounds when you arrive Wear a watch! So you know when to meet up with the whole group. Debit cards and/or Credit cards that work internationally NO TRAVELLERS CHEQUES!!!! GLOVES - WARM SOCKS – COMFORTABLE SHOES - THERMAL UNDER SHIRTS BRING CLOTHES FOR A RANGE OF TEMPERATURES 30 to 50 degrees F
