On May 12th, the Herriman City Council established a Voting Districting Commission comprising Gordon Haight, John Brems, and Kristi Peterson. Their directive is to develop two potential district alternatives while ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The commission will engage in public education and comments, review state statutes, and gather input from local officials. The plan includes assessing existing city boundaries and neighborhoods to create equitable council districts. Key steps include public briefings, surveys, and hearings leading up to ordinance consideration on June 16.
