  1. The Power, Strength, and Beauty of the DigiBusShannon Morrison – Fresno County Public Library

  2. DigiBus This is the story of how in one year the Fresno County Public Library made three unique partnerships with local organizations to launch the DigiBus, a mobile digital classroom, to strengthen the community’s job readiness skills.

  3. Goals 1. Ten GeekWise Academy students – hands on coding or teaching experience. 2. Ten sites over a six month span. 3. Increase connectivity access in rural locations. 4. Increase the ability for people to get employed. What better way to try to meet these goals than partnering up with local organizations!

  5. FCPL cooperated with recent tech graduates from the local Geekwise Academy for the DigiBus project. The goal was to allow the graduates to gain practical experience and expand their portfolios. One graduate focused on developing the DigiBus Website and another served as an instructor for the classes. The outcomewas both landed fulltime jobs!

  8. Anticipated Outcome Actual outcomes 1. Sixty percent (60%) of those who utilize the Digibus will indicate increased self-confidence in using 21st Century technology skills to secure employment. 2. Twenty percent (20%) of the Digibus trainees who learn to complete an online job application will obtain employment as a result of this learning. 3. Sixty percent (60%) of the Geekwise Academy students will obtain employment in the local tech field as a result of their experience with this project. 85% of those who utilized the Digibusindicated afterward increased self-confidence in using 21st Century technology skills to secure employment. 57% of the Digibus students who learned to complete an online job application obtained employment. 100% of our Geekwise Academy students have gained employment since working on the DigiBus project.
