  1. E-reporting: reporting ambient air quality assessment following the AQD reporting schemata Patrick van Hooydonk European Topic Centre on Air pollution and Climate change Mitigation (ETC/ACM) 5th pilot meeting Copenhagen, 24-25 may 2012

  2. E-reporting: reporting AQ assessmentoverview • Scope mapping • Mapping table AQQ – AQD • Overview general datastructure • Procedure reporting: • AQ assessment meta data • AQ assessment results • Remarks 5th pilot meeting e-reporting

  3. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentScope mapping AQQ -> AQD The mapping is focused on: • The base forms of the Questionnaire which can be generatedor derived from the AQ monitoring system • Creating an overview: no detail mapping on specific fields 5th pilot meeting e-reporting

  4. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentMapping Questionnaire -> AQD reporting 5th pilot meeting e-reporting

  5. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentOverview general datastructure(1) Station Network Protection Target Sampling Point Pollutant Model (+Process) Observation Environmental Objective (+AssessmentThreshold) Compliance SamplingPoint Aggregated Observation zone

  6. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentOverview general datastructure (2) Environmental Objective (assessment objectives) Defined by: • Pollutant • Protection target (human health, vegatation/ecosystem) • Objective type(limit value, target value, critical level, longterm objective) Characteristics: • periodparameters (period-unit:hour, day, ..),period-scope: calendar year, summer,..) • Subject (annual mean, max25, AOT40) • Objective exceedance value • Values related to objective value (MoT, LAT, UAT) Compliance SamplingPoint(SamplingPoint used for compliance) Defined by: • Protection target • Zone • SamplingPoint 5th pilot meeting e-reporting

  7. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentReporting AQ assessment meta data(1) Station Network Zones/Agglomerations Extract AQ zones/agglomerations Form 2 zone SamplingPoints for compliance Sampling Point Extract Sampling points used for compliance Compliant SamplingPoint Forms 3-5 (+Process) Environmental Objective Determine Assessment Regime Assessment regime (+AssessmentThreshold) Forms 10 Aggregated Observation

  9. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentReporting AQ assessment results (1) Station Network Single exceedances Generate exceedances zone Forms 11,13,14 Sampling Point Extract annual statistics Annual statistics Compliant SamplingPoint Forms 15,16,17,18 (+Process) Environmental Objective (+AssessmentThreshold) Determine Attainment Assessment Attainment Forms 8/9 Aggregated Observation

  11. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessmentRemarks Additional remarks about the mapping: • The reporting of SamplingPoints for Compliance need further investigation • A large part of the Questionnaire can be generated automatically: this must be encouraged to ensure consistent reporting • Further mapping of the forms which must be (partly) filled in manually is needed because: • The manual parts are mostly textual/variable which can be difficult to process/check • Manual adjustments in an automatically generated AQD-report may be complicated 5th pilot meeting e-reporting

  12. E-reporting:reporting AQ assessment THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION! 5th pilot meeting e-reporting
