Modesty Guidelines for Young Ladies • No plunging necklines—dresses must cover top of the bust line . • No short or high hemlines—dresses be no higher than mid-thigh. • No thigh-high slits on the side, front, or back of dresses. • No midriff-bearing cutouts and dresses must not dip below the waist. • No two-piece dresses revealing midriff. • No sheer fabric revealing body or under garments. • Proper foundation and under garments must be worn. • No pinning will be allowed as an alteration for a dress—if you have to pin, the dress does not meet the above guidelines. • No shawls, wraps, or scarves will be allowed to cover inappropriate dresses. • No shorts or tuxedos will be allowed; however, a dressy pantsuit with dressy shoes will be acceptable. • No facial piercings can be worn—only ear piercings. • Dresses that are too revealing when sitting down, bending over, dancing, etc. are not appropriate.

  10. Before you buy, get approval… • Please make sure and take these guidelines into account when purchasing your formal clothing. The prom is a special event for all high school students. Please enjoy the opportunity to dress up and celebrate respectfully. We do not want to send anyone home. • If you are in doubt about your dress, see one of the female administrators for approval. • Feel free to bring a picture of yourself in the dress showing the front and back or bring the dress and try it on for approval. • Students and guests who are not in compliance with the dress code will not be permitted to enter the prom. No refunds will be given. • All tickets sales are final. Refunds will not be provided to a student or their guest for non-compliance of the dress code. • Please avoid any misunderstandings by following these guidelines for appropriate formal attire. Don’t take a chance of not getting into the prom. Get approval first!

  11. Formal attire is required. Male students are highly encouraged to wear a tuxedo or suit; however, dress slacks with a dress shirt and tie will be allowed. Absolutely no jeans , hats, canes, sneakers, or sunglasses of any kind will be allowed. Sagging will not be tolerated. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Shirts must remained buttoned up. The MISD dress code policies regarding length of hair and facial hair must be followed. No grills can be worn. No facial piercings can be worn. Although a rare privilege, modest ear piercings will be acceptable. Costumes or masks cannot be worn at any time. If you are in doubt about your attire, see one of the administrators for approval.   15. Final Reminders… • Refrain from making inappropriate gestures and provocative poses in formal picturestaken by the photographer. Payment is required at the time photos are taken. • No dirty dancing, i.e. grinding, humping, lap dancing, bending over, straddling, crowd surfing, or excessive PDA, etc. Students insistent on dancing in an inappropriate or sexually explicit manner will be removed from the premises if given more than one warning. No refunds will be given. • In the event that a student arrives at prom under the influence or in the possession of drugs or alcohol, parents and law enforcement will be notified and disciplinary consequences will be administered. • All bags and belongings are subject to be searched.

Final Reminders… • All ticket holders must arrive by 9:15 p.m.No one will be admitted to prom after 9:15 p.m. No refunds will be given. • Students will not be able to enter prom without a valid school/picture ID and prom ticket. • Students will be restricted to specific areas at the venue. Once a student leaves the venue, re-entrance will not be allowed. Emergency situations will be determined by administrators only. • Prom is from 7:00—11:00 p.m. Parents/party buses will need to be available for pick-up by 10:45 p.m. There will be no adult supervision after 11:15 p.m. • Thoroughly review the information given in the Prom Packets. • MISD policies and procedures regarding student conduct will be enforced at this event.
