  5. Healthy Harvest Campaign to encourage local eating • Partnership with Catlin (and others) • 4+ Community Gardens this year • Volunteer labor • Produce goes to community • Education

  6. Hydration Stations Reduce bottled water purchases • Partnership with AES • 6 HS to be installed within the City of Hamilton (April) • Possible extension of project later next year (Railway Trail?)

  7. Plastic Bag Campaign Proposal to charge for single use plastic bags • Establish partnership with 5 or 6 grocery and fast food chains • Voluntary charge (25c) with half the income returned to the campaign • Public education campaign in advance … POS staff education and materials in support • Lobby government to ban other sources of plastic pollution (e.g. styrofoam)

Greenrock Education Council (GREC) • Greenrock Education Council engages school communities to identify and implement ways to bring about positive change: • Understanding my immediate environment (a “sense of place”) • “How do I interact with this environment?” • “What can I do to positively affect change here?” Programmes • Volunteer support needed: • Roadshow support • Implementation support • Handbook editing and updating

  9. Media and Public Communications • Website • Facebook • Newsletter • Media • Government • Volunteer support needed: • Newsletter editors • Media watcher • Fundraising support • Volunteer Coordinator Programmes

EarthHour/Earth Day Volunteer support needed: • EH celebration March 30 • EDN “a billion acts of green” campaign • Earth Day student video competition • Entertainment • Advertising and Promotion • Exhibitors and food vendors • Education • Fundraising • Promotion • Web development • Content management • Mentoring of student teams. • Competition coordination and management • Ongoing technical support, particularly for the final presentations. Events - Spring

Other Events Volunteer support needed: June: Green Workplace Awards September: Moving Planet Day November: Innovation Tournament Other Community Events (e.g. CultureFest) • Organizing Committee • Support (e.g. media, public relations) • Managing entries • Show up on the day: man tables, hand out information, crowd control Events
