Enhancing Education through Webcam Integration for Grasslands Water District

Our team aims to collaborate with the Grasslands Water District to enhance educational outreach. We will embed a webcam on their website, develop and test a demonstration of the webcam and its components, and populate the site with educational content aligned with California Middle School science and math standards focused on the Wetlands Project. Our setup includes a utility box with batteries, an AC converter, a weather-proof router, and solar power, all secured with a tripod in a protective enclosure to ensure durability and prevent unwanted perching by birds.

  1. Our goals as a team working with the client are to: • Embed the webcam on the website, • Develop and test a demonstration of the webcam and its supporting components, and • To begin to fill the website with educational content, aimed to support California Middle School science and math standards Wetlands Project • The diagram shows: • Utility box enclosing the two car batteries, DC to AC converter and the charge controller, • The weather-proof 3Com router and a solar panel mounted on top of the utility box, • The tripod will be secured to the ground to support the camera, • The camera will be placed in a transparent enclosure for protection, • And, bird spikes will be placed throughout the setup to detour • unwanted • perching.
