System of checks & balances.

Explore the structure and functions of the three branches of the U.S. government: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. The Legislative Branch, consisting of 535 members (100 senators and 435 representatives), drafts laws, with senators serving 6-year terms and representatives serving 2-year terms. The Executive Branch includes the president, vice president, and cabinet members. The Judicial Branch, led by the Supreme Court, interprets laws and ensures justice. Each branch plays a vital role in our democracy, and no branch is superior to the others.
