Trigger Board Mini-Workshop Fermilab, 1 North April 10, 2003 Trigger Menu for Luminosity 60-80E30 http://wwwd0.fnal.gov/RunIIaOperations/TriggerBoard/d0_private/workshop_10apr03/tb_wk_page.html • Ground Rules • Target Luminosity 60E30 but also quote trigger rates at 80E30 • Design for DAQ rates L1/L2/L3 = 1200/600/50 Hz • Level-3 will be running p15, which has some new filter capabilities • Design your triggers for calorimeter eta coverage up to 3.2.  • Monitor triggers should be requested and justified in association with the proposed physics triggers • All trigger requests should be accompanied with efficiency vs rate plots extracted from data • Rate estimates of proposed triggers should take into account overlap effects from similar type triggers

  3. JT_125TT CJT(4,7) L3JET(1,125) 40E30 L1=11Hz L2= 11 Hz L3=0.04 CJT(7) may disappear. Could change to CJT(3,5), would need L2JET to control L2 rate.

QCD Special Run-Low ET Studied new minbias+L3 jet monitor triggers Note the minbias rate is 270x the CJT(5) rate, but the L3 rate is 7x the JT_8TT rate, so if we replaced the JT_8TT trigger of .15 Hz (.22 at L1/L2), we would add about 40x More L2 (9 Hz) to keep the same L3. CJT(2,3) L3JET(1,15) has ~same L1 rate as JT_8TT, but 4x lower L3 rate, so could get 4x stats with same or better turn-on
