  2. Stage1 :Interphase • Grows to its mature size. • DNA Replication • Prepares to divide. • Prestage (90% of the cells life)

  3. Stage2 Mitosis: Prophase • Nucleus membrane starts to disappear • Nucleus disappears • See duplicated chromosomes

  4. Stage2 Mitosis: Metaphase • Move to the middle • Duplicated chromosomes move to the middle of the cell

  5. Stage2 Mitosis: Anaphase • Moves away • Sister chromatids separate and more to opposite poles.

  6. Stage2 Mitosis: Telophase • (start to see 2 cells) • Opposite of prophase • Nuclear membrane & nucleus starts to reappear. • Chromatin “loosens up”.

  7. Stage3: Cytokenesis • Cytoplasm divides taking with it correct number of organelles. • Marks the end of cell division. • End up with 2 identical cells (daughter cells).
