  1. Dental Implants Procedure Implants are processes that replace the roots of missing teeth. Also, it used to support crowns, bridges or dentures. Implants are placed in your jawbone surgically. implants are the most favorable method of all time by experts, it feels more natural and secure than other methods of replacing missing teeth, such as dentures. Types of implants There are two main types of implants: 1. Endosteal: These dental implants are placed in the jawbone. Usually made of titanium and look like small screws, they are the most commonly used type of implant.

  2. 2. Subperiosteal: In this type dental implants are placed under the gum but on, or above, the jawbone. It may be used in patients who do not have enough healthy natural jawbone and cannot, or do not want to, undergo a bone augmentation procedure to rebuild it. If your jawbone is not strong enough to support dental implants, There are also several techniques can be used to rebuild bone, restore your natural jawline and provide a sturdy foundation for implant-supported teeth. Which includes: Bone augmentation. This involves repairing or regenerating bone in your jaw when it is not able to support implants otherwise. Using bone additives and growth factors to fortify the bone generally achieves the best results showed in research. · Sinus Lift. Also known as sinus augmentation or sinus elevation, Which involves adding bone below the sinus in cases where the natural bone has deteriorated due to missing upper back teeth. · Ridge expansion. If your jaw isn’t wide enough to support dental implants, bone graft material can be added to a small ridge, or space, which is created along the top of your jaw. · Phases in implant process: 3. EvaluationandPreparation: This process includes everything from tooth extraction to bone grafting if needed. A CT Scan is performed and the doctor will assess the existing dentition along with the bone structure at the dental implant site. If no grafting is required, we can go right into Artificial Root Placement; if bone grafting is necessary, Evaluation and Preparation will take 3 to 6 months. Bone grafting is generallyrequired if a tooth has been missing for a long time. In a period of the first yearof missing a tooth, bone is lost at double the rate of normal bone loss. Thismakes early placement of the artificial root more critical to reducing the cost ofdental implants and to reducing the amount of time that the dental implantprocess will take. 4. Arti icialRootPlacemnt: In Artificial Root Placement, the artificial root is placed in the bone and allowedto heal. It takes 1 to 2 hours and the healing time is 3 to 6 months. During this

  3. time the titanium alloy implant will heal around and merge with the surrounding bone tissue. No other medical implant has as rapid healing or recovery times. 5. Placement of the Crown: In Placement of the Crown, an artificial tooth or crown is placed on the artificial root previously set into your jaw. An impression is made of your mouth and your new tooth are created so that they are the correct size, shape, and color for your mouth. This process only takes 2 visits about two weeks apart.
