2. Introduction:A letter is a source of communication between two parties. A letter may be in handwritten form or in printed form. It is one of the essential means of communication in the workplace as well as personal life. A sender usually writes a letter and sends it to a recipient. Letter writing is an important need in our life. There are different types of letter writing. In this article, I am going to mention the types Mainly there are 2 types of letters. These are as follows: 1. Formal letter: This type of letter is mostly used in offices or workplaces. A certain formality or pattern is followed by these letters. These are generally professional in nature. Only the concerned issues are mentioned in these letters. The letter that we write to authorities, or write to our higher department in the workplace or any kind of business letters fall under this category 2. Informal letter: Generally personal letters are known as informal letters. No certain pattern or formality is followed by these letters. These are generally used to express your personal feelings. The letter that we write to our friends, family, relatives generally fall under this category

3. Other types of letters are: 3. Social letter: These are generally written when a special event takes place. Letters that write for inviting someone on a special occasion( invitation letter), letter for congratulating someone on his success ( congratulatory letter), letter for expressing sorrow for the death of a person( condolence letter), etc. falls under this category 4. Employment letter: This type of letter is related to the employment of a person. Such as joining letter is given after hiring an employee, a promotion letter is given if an employee is promoted to a higher position, application letter etc. falls under this category. These letters are generally formal letters 5. Circular letter: Sometimes information is announced to a large number of people using a single letter. This type of letter is called a circular letter. Through this letter, the Same information is circulated among a large number of people like address change, partner retirement, change related to management, etc.

4. 6. Official letters: These are generally formal letters and a certain pattern is followed by these letters. Official information is sent to offices, branches, subordinates via this type of letter. These official information may include events, procedures, guidelines, rules, regulations and many more 7. Business Letters:The letters that are transferred between correspondents of business are known as business letters. These are formal letters so a certain pattern or formality is followed by these letters. These letters include commercial information like claims, orders, complaints, letters for collecting, etc. Conclusion: In this article, I have mentioned the different types of letters.
