  3. Hygiene • Provide only that care which the client can not do for themselves or should not do for themselves • Factors influencing hygiene -personal preferences -culture -spiritual practices -socioeconomic status -developmental level -knowledge -health status

  4. Health Status Factors • Physiological • Limited Mobility • Sensory Deficits • Cognitive Impairments • Psychological • Circulatory • Integumentary

  5. Assessment • Ability to bathe • Physical Restrictions • Physical and psychological limitations • Preferences • Therapeutic Modalities (NGTs, IVs, anti-emboletic stockings, casts, traction, oxygen etc)

  6. Nursing Diagnosis • Bathing/Hygiene Self Care Deficit • Goal: Client will be clean and feeling fresh • Interventions • What are you going to do to achieve this goal?

  7. Types of Bathing • Partial Bed Bath • Bed Bath • Complete Bed Bath • Tub Baths • Showers
