  1. Website Upgrade a 10-minute tour of Whipple Hill’s New “UX” (User Interface)

  2. What is the new UX? • A revision to the website’s user interfaces • designed to make tools easier to use • extensive research was conducted for optimal intuitiveness • dedicated teams took ownership over the major “parts” of this new interface • [this reduced bugs, enabled more focused/complete development]

  3. What the new UX isn’t... • The data being used “under the hood” has not been altered. • There is no danger of data loss with the switch • Required • We can make the switch to the new interface on our own schedule • We will have to implement training before we do

  4. New Features • Personas: A user who wears many hats can “switch” personas • switching makes screen appropriate to “hat” of current interest • what you see would vary based on “point of view” • parent • staff member • teacher • other... • onCourse (LMS=Learning Management System) • implements the new course pages; the main module for teachers

  5. Heat Map: before improvements

  6. Heat Map: after improvements

  7. onCourse • This module implements the “course pages” • It features • cleaner separation of learning content vs. organizational/administrative content • “topics” feature allows teachers to collect & present materials in the order they want it to be consumed • a streamlined assignments interface • automatically distribute assignment across sections • a more personal student roster • makes it easier to communicate with them and with their parents
