  1. Maximum Extra Credit that can be earned is +12% Combine the several options in order to get to 12% The percentages for the projects that are about to be presented are a maximum for a perfect project. There is a great possibility that you will not get the maximum amount of extra credit.

  2. AP Chemistry Extra Credit Option 1: (Up to 7% grade increase) This Option can be done in partners. Create and Run a Chemistry Lab for 1st year chemistry: Steps/ Requirements: ►Choose a lab for them to do: Can be a lab we have done this year or you did last year Must cover one of the following topics: Gas Laws/ PV=nRT Thermochemistry (using q=mcAT or a variation of it) Acid/ Base (not a titration though) ► Create a lab handout for the students must include prelab questions/ activities, a clear procedure to follow, what data to collect, how to do calculations (maybe with a sample problem) ► Create a grading rubric or a way to determine how the lab will be graded ► Help Mr. Tebow gather materials to get the lab ready for the students ► Introduce the Lab to the students ► Help the students run the lab/ answer questions/ etc ► Help clean up the lab ► Collect and grade the student lab reports Can do the lab with my classes (periods 2 or 3) OR Mr. George’s Periods (must coordinate with him)

AP Chemistry Extra Credit Option 2: (Up to 3% grade increase) This Option can NOT be done in partners Create a lab guide for the new AP chemistry: Steps/ Requirements: Choose a lab to do (out of 16) from the new AP Chemistry lab guide Create a lab handout for the students must include prelab questions/ activities, a clear procedure to follow, what data to collect, how to do calculations (maybe with a sample problem) Creating a grading rubric or a way to determine how the lab will be graded Option 3: Lab Clean-up, Inventory and Reorganization Earn 1% for each hour spent (for the first 3 hours) Earn 0.25 for each additional hour Option 4: Twin Peaks project (up to 4%) Analyze a theme, idea, technique and create a strong thesis then write a 4-6 page paper Discuss your theme in class in a structured format (such as a socratic seminar) OR Create a creative piece of art and write a 1 page paper on how it relates to the themes of the show
