HISTORY • Fishing first started as a pole and a piece of string trying to catch a fish. Indians once used fishing to find food to eat. They used canoes and sticks to catch fish. • The first welded aluminum boat was built in 1945 by Bill and Chick Ward.
MAIN IDEA • Fishing can benefit you in many ways. • Fishing can be recreational. You can spend time with your friends and family. • Fishing can be very competitive. You can go to tournaments and win money and trophyies.
DISCOVERYS • Boats are made of fiberglass instead of aluminum so the boat last longer and can take bigger waves. • It affects barges and other boats that carry supplies because, the can go father ways and the business that owns the barge wont have to buy lots of they. • The boat last longer and can go father in big waves. • A fishing rode and reel helps you catch more fish. • This affects the commercial anglers because they catch more fish. This helps people catch more fish and have more fun.
Relevance to my LIFE • A fishing a lot and always want to catch more fish and have fun fishing, so I wanted to research fishing. • Fishing is a topic that there is always going to be improvement in technology just like depth finders. • I have the advantage of knowing the newest eguipment and to catch fish more.
VOCABULARY WORDS • Fishing Rod-is a long, flexible glass fibre composite, carbon fibre composite or, classically, bamboo, used to catch fish. • Fishing Reel-is a cylindrical device attached to a fishing rod used in winding and stowing line. • Recreational-is something you do when you have fun, or an activity of leisure. • Anglers-fisherman

IMPORTANT INFO. • You have to have a license to fish and drive a boat.(13 years of age) • Make sure to always check your boat for holes and check you oil and gas. • Be careful around hooks because they can hook you.
