  2. Background Poe had a hard time selling “The Tell-Tale Heart”. People wanted stories that were more gentle. They felt this story was “TOO LOUD”.

  3. Pioneer It was finally published in the Literary magazine called Pioneer, however, the magazine went out of business and Poe never got paid!!

  8. Cataracts Cataracts are a clouding that develops in the lens of the eye, varying in degree from slight to completely opaque. It obstructs the passage of light.

  9. A senile cataract, occurring in the elderly, is characterized by an initial opacity in the lens, subsequent swelling of the lens and final shrinkage with complete loss of transparency. Moreover, with time the cataract cortex liquefies to form a milky white fluid.
