  4. Joanne de Groot@joannedegroot • Actively involved within the educational field • Has experience as a teacher, librarian and assistant professor • Knowledgeable about Professional Learning Networks • Provides insight into how to create an effective online presence

  5. Edna Dach@Edach • Experience within the education profession • Innovative in the area of technology and incorporating it into education today • Insightful in areas such as cyberbullying and being media smart

  6. October 9, 2012 Over the few weeks in which I have had a twitter account, I went from having zero followers and zero followees, to following 53 people and having 20 followers. Over this time period I have also tried to connect with the wider education community and put out 17 tweets of my own.

  7. Pln participation • Developing my Professional Learning Network through online mediums such as Twitter has proved itself to be helpful even in these early stages. Through this social media tool I have been able to: • Connect with professionals currently in the educational field • Meet and connect with other pre-service teachers • Become involved in debates and discussions which will become • important to my teaching strategies through this like #edchat • My Twitter account mainly consists of others studying Education at the University of Alberta, teachers, librarians, technology professionals, and educational based organizations (ex. Alberta Ed, ATA, etc.)
