LITURGICAL YEAR: • Church yearly cycle • Starts early December and runs to the end of November – calendar gives the Church a regular pattern of celebration, worship and remembrance. • Made up of a number of seasons. • Longest season is called Ordinary Time. • One of the most recognisable seasons is Lent. • Scattered throughout the seasons are a number of special day such as All Saints Day which is celebrated on 1 November every year.

Your favourite colour might remind you of people or events or perhaps reflects your mood at the present moment. Imagine what life would be like if everything was black and white! • The Church uses particular colours to help us more fully appreciate the patterns and events of the liturgical year.
