Welcome to 7th Grade Pre-Algebra with Mr. Kevin Dennis! With a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership, I am certified to teach mathematics to grades 4-9 in Ohio. This year marks my 8th at Mariemont Jr. High where I cover topics including algebraic expressions, integers, equations, inequalities, and more.   1. 7th Grade Pre-Algebra Mr. Kevin Dennis

  2. About Me • I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University in 1999.  I also received a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership from Northern Kentucky University in 2004.  I am Ohio certified to teach grades 4-9 mathematics.  I taught 6th grade math at Glen Este Middle School for 4 years, and this is my 8th year here at Mariemont Jr. High.  I coached junior high track for 4 years, and junior high football for 10 years.

  3. My wife, Mindy, and I have been married for 12 years.  Our daughter, Anna, is 7 years old.  Our son, Colin, is 3.

  5. Topics Covered You will learn how to: • Use the Distributive Property • Write and Solve Equations • Write, solve and graph inequalities Solving Equations and Inequalities

  6. Topics Covered Factors, Fractions, and Exponents You will learn how to: • Simplify expressions with exponents • Simplify fractions • Write and calculate in scientific notation

  7. Topics Covered Linear Functions and Graphing You will learn how to: • Determine whether a relation is a function • Solve linear equations • Solve systems of linear equations and inequalities

  8. Topics Covered Right Triangles in Algebra You will learn to: • Find the square roots of numbers • Find the missing measures of right triangles • Use the Distance and Midpoint formulas • Solve a problem by writing a proportion

  9. Here is the textbook used for the class. You can find one under any of the desks. We have a classroom set so you can leave your book at home!
